Hotspot Hunters: Check out the Solar Drone Thermography Bundle 🔥

About this course

Solar companies increasingly inspect arrays with thermal-equipped drones, and this bundle prepares you to fly them legally and interpret what they find. In the FAA Part 107 Prep Course, former RAF combat and Predator pilot Keven Gambold covers Part 107 regulations, airspace, aviation weather, and recent rule changes including night operations and Remote ID, with five full-length practice exams to prepare you for the Remote Pilot Knowledge Test. In Identifying Issues on PV Systems Using Thermal Imagery, Certified Master Thermographer Fred Brooks teaches a field-tested inspection method: pre-inspection procedures, separating true anomalies from false readings, and diagnosing hotspots, diode failures, and combiner box, inverter, and microinverter faults from handheld or drone-mounted cameras.

How does this course work?
This bundle of courses is delivered entirely online. After you enroll, the courses will be added to your Account. There's a recommended progression to follow, but you have the flexibility to access the materials in whatever order you prefer. Pre-order courses are available on launch date. The courses are self-paced and you can set your own schedule to complete the materials. You can begin the lecture videos and other course materials as soon as you enroll. After successfully completing the course, you will be able to generate a certificate of completion.
How long do I have access to the materials?
Students can pre-order but will not be able to access the full course materials or earn a certificate of completion until the course is fully published. Once the course is published any students who have pre-ordered will then have access to the course materials for one year (365 days). After the one year of access expires, access can be extended with a HeatSpring subscription (Plus or Pro). A single subscription extends access to course materials for all past enrollments.
Will the instructor really answer my questions during this course?
Yes! This is an instructor-led online course. You can ask questions on the discussion board and get prompt answers from your instructor. It varies by instructor and by course but typically instructors check-in between daily and weekly to check quiz results or project work, review and respond to discussion board questions and read survey responses. Check the enrollment page for specific information about each instructor's check-in frequency.
Is there a certificate of completion?
Yes, when you complete a course in this bundle you are eligible for a certificate of completion from HeatSpring. You can download your certificate as soon as you have completed all of the course requirements. Students can easily share their verified certificates on their LinkedIn profiles using our LinkedIn integration.

I recommend this course to any one seeking understanding on how to identify cracked cells in a solar panel and be more mindful of how delicate solar cells really are..

This is a fantastic must-watch course that everyone in PV solar industry should be required to take. I find it amazing that it isn't available for at least one CEU credit for NABCEP training. I never would have thought that one light step on a relatively small and sturdy module could create so many micro-cracks in a module's cell. Nicely done, Jim!

This was a clear and useful course for understanding the fundamentals of silicon PV panels. I particularly appreciated how the course explained the important concepts in a simple and practical way. It was a good addition to my knowledge of solar PV systems.
