Fred Brooks is a distinguished professional with over 8 years of dedicated service in the United States Navy's Engineering Department. He holds a BS degree in Environmental Science from HPU, complemented by extensive coursework in photovoltaic engineering. Fred embarked on his journey in the photovoltaic industry in 2006, quickly establishing himself as a pioneer in solar O&M by founding Hawaii's first solar cleaning and maintenance company in 2009.
With a commitment to excellence, Fred has earned esteemed certifications including Certified Energy Manager, Certified Energy Auditor, and Level II Thermographer Certification. Since 2009, he has been a trailblazer in the Photovoltaic Maintenance Industry, displaying his expertise as a speaker at prominent conferences such as the 2019 AEE World Energy Conference.
Fred's contributions extend beyond his professional endeavors; he serves as the Hawaii AEE chapter Scholarship Director and is a valued contributing editor to industry publications focusing on Photovoltaic Operations and Maintenance. His dedication to education is evident through his involvement in teaching courses such as the 200-hour photovoltaic course approved by the Department of Energy as part of the solar ready vets' program and trainings he has held with Hawaii Energy.
