The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, usually referred to as NABCEP, is the industry gold standard for solar certifications and credentials. Many manufacturers, state licensing agencies and solar incentive programs require some level of NABCEP credential.

HeatSpring is an Accredited NABCEP Education Provider and this page will help you find courses which qualify for the Advanced PV Training hours required to sit for NABCEP certification exams as well as being approved for continuing education hours (CEU hours) to maintain your credential and recertify. The PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Board Certification validates your competence to perform in the role of PV Installation Professional, which encompasses PV design, installation, operations, commissioning and maintenance.

NABCEP PV Design Specialist Certification

The PV Design Specialist (PVDS) Board Certification recognizes the advanced experience and skill of PV system designers. This Board Certification demonstrates your proven ability to configure the mechanical and electrical design components of PV systems.

NABCEP PV Installer Specialist Certification

The PV Installer Specialist (PVIS) Board Certification demonstrates competency in aspects of PV installation processes, DC and AC PV system conductors, raceways, system monitoring, control, and communication hardware and safety plans.

NABCEP PV C&M Specialist Certification

The PV Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist (PVCMS) Board Certification highlights your expertise and ability to apply verification protocols, critically analyze systems, and implement preventive and corrective maintenance procedures for PV systems

NABCEP PV Technical Sales Certification

The PV Technical Sales (PVTS) Board Certification was created for those who have a demonstrated knowledge and expertise in qualifying prospects, site analysis, performance analysis and financial incentives of PV systems.

NABCEP PV System Inspector Certification

The PV System Inspector (PVSI) Board Certification recognizes the advanced skill of inspecting residential and commercial PV systems with a mastery of PV systems, applicable codes and ordinances, and assessing the safety and operation of PV systems.

NABCEP PV Associate Credential

The NABCEP Associate Program recognizes individuals who have demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation, and operation of Photovoltaic Systems.
