The Ins and Outs of Selecting Cold Climate Minisplit Heat Pumps
About this course
Minisplit heat pumps are a great space conditioning choice for low energy buildings. Getting the appropriate information to be sure that a unit will heat your building at design heating temperature can be confusing. In this presentation you’ll learn the latest about heat pumps that can supply heat at temperatures as low as -15°F, and how to understand ratings and manufacturers' data so that you can confidently select the proper system.
Attendees will learn:
- How heat pump efficiency is expressed by the coefficient of performance (COP)
- How both COP and heating output vary with outdoor temperature
- Why the AHRI ratings aren’t adequate for picking a heat pump
- The process for selecting the proper minisplit heat pump
