Intro Course: How to Make Money in Renewable Energy

Course Description

This introductory course is for professionals who are changing careers, starting or expanding a business and need some specific and useful advice on how to reach their goals in the industry. The course is segmented into four parts. The first will provide a technology introduction into solar pv, geothermal, solar thermal and energy efficiency. The second part will be a self-assessment workshop that will help us determine where YOUR opportunity is in the industry based on your background, skills, location and goals. The third step is a 1-on-1 call to discuss your next step. Lastly, resources and a next step guide for your businesses or career that will provide you with specific next steps, articles and video tailor to your situation and business goals. The course will go at lightning speed and provide you four critical components that will help you understand where you can make money in renewable energy. There are no silly marketing tricks involved, the training is boiling down everything we've learned training 4,000 contractors in the past 5 years helping you to reach your goals.

Course Introduction - Here is how the course will work

It was hard to boil 5 years of stories, data, and training experience into a single one-hour course. We’ve done our best, and the result is a series of videos, reading assignments, discussion, and resources, with an optional Q&A session via live webinar. This module walks you through the steps for successfully completing the course.

Basic Technology Overview - Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Geothermal Heat Pumps, Building Science

This overview will provide you a quick understanding of how solar PV, solar thermal, geothermal and building science work. We'll provide you with additional resources you can use to learn more, but this lesson is a critical foundation for understanding where you fit in the industry.

Self - Assessment Workshop - How can YOU make money?

The self-assessment will provide you a framework of understanding where your businesses or career can make money based on your background, skill set, location and goals. The self-assesment workshop will build upon what you learned in section 1 (the basic technology overview) to provide you with more direction for your next steps.

1-on-1 Call - Get advice and introductions

After finishing the self-assessment you can schedule a 30 minute 1 on 1 consultation with HeatSpring. The 1 on 1 discussion will use your goals and our knowledge to provide you with specific next steps, advice, introduction based on your goals.

Meet The Instructor

Chris Williams

HeatSpring Learning Institute

Chris Williams works with HeatSpring developing products and managing online content. He's a clean energy jack-of-all trades. He has installed over 300kW of solar PV systems, tens of residential and commercial solar hot water systems and 50 tons of geothermal equipment. Chris is an IGSPHA Certified Geothermal Installer and will be sitting for his NABCEP in September. He went to Babson College and consults with renewable energy companies on sales, marketing and design.
