I'm Andy Nyce - originally from New Zealand, but I've spent the last nine years in the United States in a range of engineering, construction, project management and quality control roles in the large scale renewables industry. I've been directly involved in over 2GW of execution at every level of installation, management and commissioning.
I'm currently the Sr. Director of Project Management at Erthos - who are approaching the design, installation and maintenance of utility scale solar from a completely new angle, with disruptive new technologies and approaches.
I spent six years at DEPCOM Power - a subsidiary of Koch Engineered Solutions - and was involved with installations throughout the country. I have experience with fixed tilt and single axis tracking systems, in-depth civil works and a wide range of electrical knowledge.
I hold a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and I'm currently completing a Masters in Renewable Energy (via distance learning) from Murdoch University in Perth, Australia.
I have in-depth understanding of how to successfully take a project from initiation all the way through to completion, know how to cultivate a strong and hardworking team culture, and work best in challenging environments.
I have a range of experience in the wider energy services field from my time at Ecosave in Sydney, where I worked as a Technical Project Manager. I have international experience in India, Nepal and Cambodia where I was involved in a range of volunteer roles - with a focus on energy system design, sustainable development and renewable energy - specifically solar photovoltaics.
I'm also a fellow of the Clean Energy Fellowship Institute 2022 Cohort, which has widened my skillset in hydrogen, transmission, energy storage, energy justice and community action.
