I found this course to be thorough and informative. Passed the PVIP exam first try with a 91.
Sean's course was incredibly helpful in the process of starting my own solar installation company. I had a lot of industry training beforehand, and the two methods of learning came together like a hand in a nitrile glove
Great course. I highly recommend.
Retaking after letting my license lapse due to travel and work requirements. Hope to have positive test experience post covid
Welcome! Very informative and user friendly. Good luck and enjoy!
This course is great. I really enjoyed the interactive way the the instructor lead this course. Other course are usually boring and hard to stay awake, but I was ready to learn the whole way through. Thanks HeatSpring!
The course bundle and the PVIP test prep gave me a solid foundation for the PVIP exam. I personally did the 18 Hour PV Solar Boot Camp, the 40-Hour NABCEP Advanced PV Certification Training, and the NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Practice Exam. I was able to pass the test on my first attempt. The NABCEP PVIP exam was more challenging than I expected, but I was able to fall back on the foundation I had learned through the course and then work through the challenging questions. I could hear Sean talking over my shoulder! I would definitely recommend the course package!
This course was really well prepared and thought out; from the delivery and organization, to the resources and active discussion board. I feel grateful to have landed in the Heatspring courses, you can always tell when someone truly loves what they are teaching. Now that I have finished the "Battery Storage Bootcamp & 40hr NABCEP Advanced PV Training", I'll continue with the "Additional Videos" and start diving into several other Courses. Thank you for all the collaborative efforts to create and maintain these program(s).
I’ve been in the industry since 2015, gaining a lot of direct practical knowledge as well as passive learning along the way. I really wish I had taken this course 10 years ago! It's an interactive and interesting class, but it's also easy to put in the background while doing other tasks after reading the textbook chapters. I know I’ll refer back to this material throughout the year. I feel prepared to take this test.
They way Sean explains and uses repetition to engrave concepts in your brain is awesome! It really helps to take this course if you want to pass the exam or improve your knowledge in solar!
This course is a complete package for those preparing for the NABCEP PVA exam. I would also recommend Sean White's text book - Solar Photovoltaic Basics - as a guide to prepare for the exam.
The course was much better than I expected. I have taken many online courses in my career, and Sean did a great job of making the lessons engaging and breaking down some of the complexities of the topics.
After taking the PVIP exam, I realized that I have been studying for the exam for three years either in the field installing and asking questions from great master electricians or in an office creating resources for engineers in the office and installers in the field. However, the practice questions allowed me to orient my test-taking mind for the PVIP. I made an 83 on the actual exam and credit the last push required for passing to this course. Many Thanks!
Great course with lots of information, would highly recommend.
Sean, thank you for putting together these practice questions, they were very instrumental in my passing of the PVIP exam. I felt well prepared and was confident of my answers on the majority of the exam.
The Heatspring 18 Hour Solar PV Bootcamp course is an incredibly valuable tool, whether you've worked in PV for years or are just getting started in the industry. The self-guided approach allows those who have experience to spend more time on topics they are less familiar with, while moving quickly through items that may be more review for them. I also think the course does a great job of balancing teaching the material in a way that allows it to be fully understood, as opposed to "teaching to the test", while still making sure it does prepare for the actual examination. Great course that I will absolutely return to even after completing my certifications!
This is a self-paced course, so the most important thing is to just watch the videos without half-assing it. Make sure you grasp the concepts before moving on to the next video. No one will force you to understand everything except for yourself
The NABCEP certifications are great, this course will get you to your goal.
I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to enter the solar industry and preparing for the NABCEP PVIP exam. It's an excellent industry filled with smart, driven professionals and endless opportunities for growth.
This course is an awesome way to prep for the NABCEP exam. Do it!
No.
Highly recommended course! I learned a lot of practical and hands-on information, even already being an Energy Systems Engineer with career experience. I wish I would have taken it 5 years sooner. It is THE way to learn how to get solar PV on roofs and batteries in garages. This will be THE critical skill set for the 21st century and can unlock harmony of people, planet, and prosperity.
Yep.
I started this journey ten years ago when I took the PVIP after being in the trade for 3 years and failed. I waited another 10 years before trying again and passed with more knowledge.
This course was great because of the enthusiasm of the instructor (Sean White). It makes a huge difference in keeping things interesting.
If youre studying for your PVIP exam, this is the one for you!
This course is very informative, engaging and easy to follow. Sean Keeps your attention through the entire thing!
Whether your new to the solar industry or a seasoned solar veteran in need of a refresher course, this 18-Hour Solar PV Bootcamp provides a plethora of a great information to fast-track your continued solar education.
this is a great class and an effective way to learn about solar. thank you Sean and HeatSpring.
Great course with a lot of technical information that has expanded my knowledge and abilities in the solar industry.
This course is a must-take for anyone starting their journey in the solar industry! I wish the solar EPC I work at made me take this in the first month after I was hired.
Engaging and entertaining course that is a great entry point into the solar power + energy storage world. I am an energy systems engineer with career experience and I still learned a lot. The Associate course is an awesome choice for anyone that wants to work in this high-demand and growing field. Highly recommended!
I've learned a ton of core knowledge from this course. Personally, the handbook 'Solar PV Engineering and Installation' by Sean White is an absolute must for walking through this course with it in hand.
Comparing my knowledge prior to taking this course to after completion, I feel I have gained much and am in a much better position to take the PVIP exam.
Prior to taking the course I had very limited knowledge of PV and how it is supposed to function. My limited experience was field level installation without any theory. This course in just 18hours has explained many things about PV that I had no prior understanding of. In a very short amount of time my knowledge of PV application/installation has increased dramatically.
The truth is I don't like studying. But with this course and the need to improve myself in my professional life, I am learning to study, concentrate and give my best. I hope I can pass the exam that is my goal
I am so glad I dedicated the time and expenses for this course. I struggled with the best way to study for the NABCEP and I feel this really keeps one on track and focused. Great course, great instructor and great material!
I took this course in preparation for the PVIP exam 40-hr prep course. Even with years of Solar installation experience, I learned a tremendous amount from this entry-level course. I feel as though it has filled in the gaps of my knowledge of solar design, installation, and use. This is a great foundation for anyone in the industry, and I am confident in building up to more advanced material from here.
ok
This BOOT Camp was a very good introduction to the solar PV. I now am more comfortable regarding the initial stage of system design and performance estimation.
As a 15-year veteran of the residential solar business, this course was valuable to me for clarifying and reinforcing the "Why" and "How" behind all the "What" I've learned to do over the years. Never too late to learn more, and I'm looking forward to taking (and passing!) the PVIP exam and adding the NABCEP cert to my name and my business. Get started in solar on the right foot with the right knowledge, or build on what you know and move to the next step of expertise and value. More solar, yes, and especially MORE SOLAR DONE RIGHT.
A great course second to none. It seems long but there is so much to get through. A must for PV installers
I absolutely love the way Sean does his lectures. The funny explanations and side notes are great. If all college/other courses were the same way, it would be soooo much easier to stay engaged!
Sean's PVIP course was crucial in preparing for the exam. Despite how complicated the material and process of the exam is, Sean does an excellent job of breaking down all the different sections and making the entire process clear and understandable. His responsiveness to discussion board posts also allowed any confusion or questions to be quickly resolved.
very funny guy, the course is long and technical but Shawn was able to handle it and make it a bit fun.
As a licensed master electrician. I didn't need the NEC over view, Im pretty sure I can thumb my way around the code book.
well this is great help.
What a great course! Sean White delivers some great introductory knowledge for solar professionals that want to take the next step in their careers or for anyone interested in learning more about PV solar. 11/10!
