How to use markdown to format your discussion board posts

Did you know that Markdown can help you can make formatted bulleted lists, number lists, bold, italics, and links? Some fields in HeatSpring are 'markdown ready' including discussion board posts and comments as well as other fields. Markdown allows you to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, which then converts to valid HTML for viewing on HeatSpring. Markdown is totally optional and only necessary if you want special formatting applied to your content.

Most Used Examples

The two most commonly used Markdown features are:

  1. Hitting the 'enter' key creates a new line space.
  2. Pasting a full url 'autolinks' which turns into a clickable hotlink.
