Course Description

Want to pass the NABCEP Installer Certification Exam? This two-day course is intended for experienced installers, or students who have completed HeatSpring's Solar Installer Boot Camp, and are planning to take the NABCEP Installer Certification exam. We will focus 100% on exam prep with emphasis on aspects related to the 2011 NEC, including wire sizing, voltage drop, and grounding. A 200-question study guide and 9-Part Audio Study guide come with this course and are available for download immediately after registration.

Course Agenda

Pre-Course Assignments - Optional, but strongly recommended

You can download our unofficial “NABCEP Study Guide” immediately after signing up for this course. This includes 200 multiple choice questions in 9 critical areas that are tested on the NABCEP Exam. The Study Guide also includes an version so you can study while driving or on the job. This is an advanced course, so students are expected to have a strong grasp on the fundamentals of solar PV and significant field experience.

2 Full Days of Test Prep - Hundreds of Practice Problems + 2011 NEC Review

Spend two days working through sample exam questions and reviewing advanced concepts that correlate with the NABCEP Task Solar PV Installer Exam Task Analysis. The course is taught by an ISPQ Certified Master Trainer who has taken and passed the NABCEP Solar PV Installer Certification exam. You're expected to bring a copy of the 2011 code book and a calculator to class - we'll take care of everything else.

Ken Thames is a master electrician, NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer, ISPQ Certified Master Trainer and founder of Thames Electric Co, in Denver, Colorado. Ken has installed more than 500 solar pv systems since 1994. He has deep expertise in battery-backed systems, project management experience on megawatt-scale projects, and teaches courses on the NEC for inspectors.
