About

Vaughan Woodruff is the principal of EquinoxDG, a consulting firm that provides strategic support on DER interconnection reform for clean energy advocates, solar and energy storage companies, utilities, and regulators. His work includes developing comprehensive regulatory and legislative strategy, optimizing applicant and utility processes, building consensus among parties that serves the interests of utility customers, and highlighting the human impacts of interconnection processes.

Vaughan previously served as Regulatory Vice President for the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, the national leader in DER interconnection reform, where he led the organization’s state and national efforts to streamline the interconnection of distributed energy resources and bolster grid modernization to achieve a 100% clean energy future. Prior to joining IREC, Vaughan founded and led a Maine-based, employee-owned B Corp that specialized in the design and installation of distributed energy resources, including solar, energy storage, EV charging equipment, and heat pumps. He also served as Vice President of Workforce Development and Interconnection Strategy for another multi-state, employee-owned B Corp working in the same space. He has served on technical committees for NABCEP, IREC, and IAPMO, and currently serves as the Chair of the Maine State Workforce Board. Vaughan and his family live in his home state of Maine, where they spend ample time among its forests and lakes.
