This is a great course to watch and gain insight for possible career directions to choose from. I enjoyed the speakers from GRID Alternatives and IREC, while even highlighting Veterans. It gives you direct contact experience with Solar Higher Up Professionals and their experiences with dialog from the questioner. Great course. Thank you for making it Free!
I didn't know if I would like this but I did and it gave me different Ideas to try to reach my students.
Very emotional and educational at the same time!! ... I was also surprised that a couple of examples of situations that the instructor mentioned during the training are things that actually happened to some of my workers in the past, so you can confirm that these are all real life experiences !!
I am just getting into the field of electricity I know just about enough to make myself dangerous. But after this very informative lesson I know that I was dangerous . After this it is making me think twice about the dangers involved with this line of work and how important PPE is to the job and how much I will be pushing the contractors to make sure they are training there people and using the right PPE.
This is a very engaging and valuable training for anyone working on or near live equipment. The course gives good context for the NFPA 70E Code and how to find the necessary information to work safely.
As a safety professional I have been bullied around by management or senior employees that said they knew electrical but were not following the standards and I went along with them as my knowledge was limited. Now, I will be more proactive, directing training and educating management and others that want to do "what they think is right" or "what they have always done" as I have been empowered by this content and personal testimony to speak to the 70E consensus standard.
Learned a lot
I imagine I speak for a lot of people when I say that I came into this course with a general awareness of arc flash hazards, along with a somewhat lax attitude towards my PPE because it's never really seemed like something that could actually happen to me. This course gave me a much-appreciated attitude adjustment.
Great introductory course in solar construction safety. Tripper Gawan has helped me understand that safety in the single most important thing in solar construction.

This course is one of the more effective courses when it comes to safety in the solar industry. Most safety courses are not specifically tailored to solar so this course is a breath of fresh air! Please do yourself a favor and take this course!
I took this course to give myself a refresher on the industry I know and love, both the technical aspects and the operational highlights. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone looking to review their understanding of solar construction or those needing an informative introduction for the first time!
