Here's the basic answer:
Learning hours reflect the total time a learner spends actively engaged with course material. For each course, we combine three components: video and lecture runtime, estimated reading time for supplemental materials, and the time required to complete quizzes and assessments. Reading time is estimated using a standard rate of 200 words per minute, a conservative benchmark appropriate for technical and safety-related content, consistent with industry conventions established by organizations such as the Association for Talent Development (ATD). These components are measured and summed at the individual course level, then totaled across the full curriculum. This approach ensures that reported hours represent real learning time rather than just video length, and provides employers with an accurate picture of the preparation each learner has completed before arriving on the job site.
