"I can say with certain enthusiasm that the course I took with HeatSpring was exactly what I was looking for. I've used the training and contacts that I made while attending to install 5 systems to date with more on the way and they are all working great. I now include geothermal HVAC systems with my Plumbing Heating and Cooling Business and take every opportunity I get to educate the public about the benefits of geothermal systems, especially Builders.
I've been asked by dozens of tradesmen like myself where I trained and I tell them that HeatSpring has this really great course, and then direct them to your website.
Thank you all for your efforts to bring this great old technology into the mainstream of America."

"As an attendee of several HeatSpring Learning Institute courses, I have found the presenters to be knowledgeable in their fields and very capable in their presentation of the material. I have used this knowledge to expand the services provided by my company and have even suggested new course subjects that I would like to have HeatSpring offer. These have been some of the most useful and practical courses that I have attended over the last twenty years."

"Great courses. Fantastic instruction! Priceless in the sense that they make sure you understand how many crucial components must be taken into account in order to properly design and size systems."

"Taking the HeatSpring courses was well-spent money. The course instructors were the real McCoy, people that have worked in this industry and helped develop the technology behind it. I've recently taken some other courses put on by suppliers and they nothing close to the HeatSpring courses."

"...it was probably one of the top three seminars I've attended in my 30 years in the HVAC industry - if not the best!"

"Before attending the HeatSpring Geothermal [Installer Certification] training, my distributer was giving me rules of thumb for system design. I found this to be unacceptable and decided to go get educated. After the HeatSpring class I am completely comfortable with design and knowledge of what kind of systems will work. I would recommend this class to anyone looking to learn more about geothermal systems."

"We at Eco Air Inc. have always strived to stay up with technology and feel that the IGSHPA Installer Certification Training offered by HeatSpring Learning Institute was the best way for us to do just that. We, like many others in our industry, had been fooled by the "ease as pie" and "rule of thumb" mindset conveyed to us by those who just want to sell more equipment. After taking the course we are now able to take full control over the quality of systems that we provide to our customers.
Thanks, HeatSpring, for making us a better educated geothermal contractor."

Thank you for the very informative class. I have been in the mechanical business for over 25 years; we are a design and build company for HVAC, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Boilers and process piping. The class was the most informative and challenging one that I have taken. This was time well spent.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I can?t make the course and need to cancel?
One benefit of enrolling in a HeatSpring course is the ability to transfer into another course. The earlier you can let us know the better, but transfers are free up until a week before the course begins. For a more detailed look at our cancellation policy click here.
Do you provide accommodations during the course?
We negotiate and set aside a discounted room block at all of our course locations, typically hotels, and provide details of that arrangement on your personal HeatSpring account page. Accommodations are not included in your tuition fee, so you are free to make all of your own travel arrangements.
How many people are typically enrolled in the Solar Installer Boot Camp Training?
Courses usually have 30-35 students. A group that size is big enough for great networking, but small enough so the instructor can answer all of your specific questions.
What time does the course start and end?
Our courses start at 8am and generally run until 5pm. We encourage students to come a bit earlier (7:45am) on the first day to leave enough time for registration and to get coffee.
What time does the course end on the third day?
Students will begin the open book exam after lunch, at around 1pm. The exam usually takes about an hour and a half to two hours to finish. Once you are finished you are free to leave.
How is the exam laid out?
The exam is comprised of 100 questions, both True/False and Multiple Choice. It is an open book exam, so students are allowed to use all of their course materials (minus the study guide) for the exam.
What happens if I don't pass the exam?
Don?t worry. You can contact the IGSHPA Training department at 1-800-626-4747 and retest for $75.

PE, LEED AP Earth Sensitive Solutions
John D. Manning, PE is founder and President Phoenix Energy Supply, a distributor of geothermal products and Earth Sensitive Solutions, LLC (ESS), an engineering and consulting firm committed to reducing our collective environmental footprint. He has over 25 years of experience in mechanical engineering and geothermal system installation and design.
With six patents in heat pump design as well as three years as an installing contractor, Mr. Manning brings a unique perspective to system design. This perspective combined with a compassionate sensitivity to environmental impact has provided hundreds of opportunities to contribute to the overall success of geothermal projects from Port Augusta, Australia to Auburn, NY. These projects include hospitals, office buildings, academic facilities, dormitories, military housing, and low-income housing projects, as well as the first LEED 2.0 Gold rated facility, the Cambria PA DEP Office in Ebinsburg, PA.
Prior to forming ESS, Mr. Manning gained his breadth of experience while working at Carrier Corporation, Beardsley Design Associates, Geotech and A&C Enercom, where he managed the 4,500 Commercial Energy Audit Program sponsored by Niagara Mohawk.
As an instructor, Mr. Manning shares his professional experiences and the fact that this technology can be designed and installed cost-effectively and, more importantly, have a dramatic effect on our collective environmental footprint. Geothermal heat pumps have demonstrated the lowest life cycle costs and proven reliability, and thus have grown in acceptance even when viewed from a strict economic perspective. The possibility of creating a zero emission facility by coupling geothermal heat pumps with renewably generated electricity firmly establishes this technology as the technology of choice for the 21st Century.
