Hands-On Solar PV Installer Training

Munro Distributing, 33 Commercial Street, Raynham, Massachusetts, 02767

Description

This 1 day hands-on training is made for professionals that need to learn exactly how to install solar PV arrays on flat and pitched roofs. In this 1 day hands on solar training, you'll learn how to rack, attach and ground modules on pitched and flat roofs. Learn how to install and wire central and micro-inverters and how to wire a solar PV system from the modules to the interconnection. Also, we'll tour a operating 105kW operating system.

Agenda

WELCOME - How This Course Works

For one full day, you're going to be in a small group (maximum six) doing two solar installations. We'll be working on a mock-roof inside a warehouse and installing two systems: one with a micro inverter and one with a central inverter. We're not expecting you to bring any specialized equipment, simply wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring a notebook and calculator. We'll take care of the rest.

Pitched and Flat Roof Integration -

On pitched roof, you'll learn how to 1) perform and flash roof penetrations 2) install racking 3) wire management and grounding 4) and how to attach and ground modules to the array. On the flat roof, you'll learn who to 1) build the racking on site 2) manage and install ballast and 3) how to ground and attach modules.

Micro and Central Inverters Wiring and Installing -

By installing them yourself, learn the ins and outs of wiring and installing central and micro-inverters on an array

Wiring from Modules to Interconnection -

For central inverters, after the the array has been built, you will wire the system from the homeowners to the DC disconnect, inverter, AC disconnect, and into an existing service. For the micro-inverter array, you'll wire the AC output from the microarrays into an AC service and into the existing service

Tour of a 105kW Operating Array -

Munro Distributing has an 105kW array on the training facilities that we will tour so that you can see how what you've learned in the hands on section was applied to the real world. This will be a time when the instructor can show you best practices for solar installation
