Passive Building Fundamentals

ONLINE

Description

10 Week In-Depth Course from PHIUS Founder Katrin Klingenberg.

Possibly the most important role in the delivery process of passive buildings – and the most overlooked - is that of the business leader: the manager of the client company, the owner of a small design firm with a few employees, or the executive in charge of a large architectural firm with many employees. Making the sale starts here. It can be a challenge to adequately assemble and guide a capable team of players without being the expert oneself. Executives need to know a lot to recommend a passive building approach. . . .hence this course, in which you will establish the passive building fundamentals needed to manage/oversee your next project. You need not dive too deeply into the actual physics, math, and modeling of an actual project to learn everything you need to know to guide and assure the process, identify and avoid critical mistakes, and make the sale.

Agenda

Minimum Requirements to Complete This Course - Due November 29th

Complete all of these required steps to satisfy Phase 1 of the Certified Passive House Consultant training through PHIUS. You'll also earn the enduring respect of your classmates and instructor, and have a variety of tools for use on future projects: 1) Watch 100% of the video presentations 2) Submit 90% of the homework assignments 3) Complete your capstone assignment. Note: This course requires basic building science knowledge. It does not review basic principles such as heat transfer or moisture. This course does not include hands on modeling of software tools.

Enrolling in this course gives you access to all of the online course materials immediately. You will receive a welcome packet in the mail with your textbooks within a week. Keep in mind that I (your instructor Katrin) will be there to answer your questions and help you learn for the duration of the course.
